The View Point Restaurant has an eventful history. From the “hippies” attending the 1970 Vortex Festival at the neighboring state campgrounds at McIver Park to the boisterous competition between the loggers and cowboys on the weekends the Viewpoint has experienced lots of interesting times. The first known bill of sale is November 3, 1953 and was sold by the Wallaerts to Maxine Mathews.

The Viewpoint was totally demolished by fire on February 24, 1982. The day after the fire a huge landslide roared into McIver Park at the site of the burned out restaurant. The road was moved away from the unstable ground and the Viewpoint was rebuilt where it is now located.

We look forward to seeing you here!
